TikTok Comment Exporter

Paste a public TikTok video link and download its comments as a spreadsheet: one row per comment, with the username, display name, text, like count and posting time. It opens in Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers, and it is free.

Last updated

Free · no login · public videos · up to ~1,000 comments

What is in the export?

One row per top-level comment, up to about 1,000 per video, in seven columns. The file is built in your browser from the comments already on screen, so downloading it again, or in the other format, costs nothing and sends nothing.

ColumnWhat it holds
usernameThe commenter's @handle, without the @.
display_nameThe name shown on their profile.
commentThe comment text, emoji included.
likesLikes on the comment at the moment it was read.
posted_at_utcWhen it was posted, as an ISO 8601 time in UTC.
comment_idTikTok's own id for the comment.
profile_urlA link to the commenter's profile.

How do you export TikTok comments to Excel or Google Sheets?

Four steps, and none of them needs an account.

  • Copy the video link from TikTok: Share, then Copy link.
  • Paste it above and press Export comments. A large thread takes a few seconds.
  • Optionally type in the search box to keep only matching comments; the export follows the search.
  • Press Download CSV and open the file. In Google Sheets use File, Import and upload it.

Why does the CSV open correctly in Excel?

Because the file starts with a UTF-8 byte-order mark. Without it, Excel on Windows guesses the wrong encoding and every emoji and accented name in a comment section turns into garbage characters. Sheets and Numbers ignore the mark, so it costs nothing there.

One more safeguard: a comment that starts with an equals, plus or minus sign gets a leading apostrophe, so a spreadsheet treats it as text instead of trying to run it as a formula. Comments that start with an @mention are left exactly as written.

What do people use a TikTok comment export for?

Mostly for work a scrolling phone screen makes impossible:

  • Giveaway records. Keep a copy of the entries as they stood at the deadline, next to the rules. The comment picker can then draw from the same video.
  • Feedback and research. Sort a product video's comments into questions, complaints and requests in a spreadsheet.
  • Moderation. Search a thread for a word and see every comment that uses it, with who wrote it and when.
  • Content ideas. The most liked questions under a video are the next video.

What are the limits?

The export holds what the TikTok comment viewer can read: top-level comments only, no replies, up to about 1,000, public videos only. TikTok's own comment count includes replies, so expect the file to have fewer rows than the number under the video.

The comments belong to the people who wrote them. Use the export to read and organise them, not to message everyone in it.
