How to Download TikTok Videos
Tap Share on the video, then Save video. That saves a copy to your phone's gallery or camera roll, on iPhone and Android alike, as long as the creator allows downloads. On a computer, right-click the video on tiktok.com and choose Download video.

How do you download a TikTok video to your phone?
In the TikTok app, per TikTok's guide to saving videos to your device:
- Go to the video you want to save.
- Tap the Share button on the side of the video.
- Tap Save video. A pop-up confirms when the copy is in your gallery.
- The quick way: press and hold the video, then tap Save video.
Where do saved TikTok videos go?
To your phone's photo gallery, which is the camera roll on an iPhone. If a saved video is not there, TikTok says to check the device's download folder or a TikTok album in the gallery. On an iPhone, also check that TikTok is allowed to use your photos: Settings, TikTok, Photos.
Photo posts work the same way with Save photo instead, and Select all saves every photo in a carousel at once, per TikTok's download help page.
How do you download TikTok videos on a PC or Mac?
Open the video on tiktok.com in your browser, right-click the video and choose Download video. It saves to your browser's usual downloads folder. That option was there when checked on 2026-10-26 in Chrome on a Mac, without logging in.
TikTok's own download page gives the app steps above; its help pages do not describe the browser menu, so if the option is missing, use the app.
Why can't you save a TikTok video?
Almost always because the creator does not allow it. TikTok lists the reasons the save option can be missing or fail:
- No Save video button: the creator has turned downloads off for their videos.
- Private videos cannot be downloaded at all.
- Private accounts and anyone under 16 have downloads off, and cannot turn them on, per TikTok's downloads setting page.
- Your own video won't save: turn on Settings and privacy, Privacy, Downloads, Allow video downloads.
- Download failed: check your connection and free storage, clear TikTok's cache, and try again.
Can you download a TikTok without the watermark?
Not through TikTok, and TikTok asks you not to try. Its own download page says that "to protect creators' rights, TikTok currently does not support the download of videos without watermarks", and asks people not to use third-party tools to download other users' videos "to avoid legal disputes". Depending on the creator's settings, a saved copy can carry the TikTok watermark and the creator's username.
The sites that promise a watermark-free download work around exactly that, which is why this site does not offer one. For your own videos there is an official way: save the draft before you post, below, and the copy has no watermark by default.
How do you save a TikTok draft to your camera roll?
You no longer have to post a draft to keep a copy. From TikTok's saving guide:
- Go to your Profile and tap Drafts.
- Tap the draft you want to save.
- Tap the More button at the top.
- Tap Save to device. The copy has no watermark by default; turn the watermark on in the draft settings first if you want one.
- To keep a copy of a video as you post it, tap More options on the post screen and turn on Save to device.
How do you stop people from downloading your TikToks?
Turn the downloads setting off: Profile, the Menu ☰ button, Settings and privacy, Privacy, Downloads, then Video downloads. From TikTok's downloads setting page, what that changes:
- Nobody can save your past or future videos or photos, or turn them into live photos or GIFs.
- Copies people saved while downloads were on stay on their devices.
- People can still share a link to your video, including by direct message.
- You can still download your own posts.
- Turn the same setting on to let people save your videos again; private accounts and under-16s cannot.
Can you watch TikTok videos offline?
Yes, but you don't pick the videos. TikTok's offline watching feature downloads a batch of videos chosen from your For You recommendations so you can keep scrolling without a connection. Go to Profile, the Menu ☰ button, Settings and privacy, Offline videos, choose how many, and tap Download, ideally on Wi-Fi. Watch them from the same Offline videos screen; Clear removes them and turns the feature off.
To keep one particular video, save it with Save video instead.
Can you download a TikTok LIVE?
Only your own, and only for a while. TikTok's LIVE replays page describes a recording of your LIVE that you can view, download or clip for 30 days. It documents no way to download someone else's LIVE, or the LIVE chat. Running a giveaway on a LIVE covers what that means for picking a winner.
Does TikTok tell the creator when you save their video?
TikTok's help pages on downloads describe no notification to the creator when someone saves a video. What the creator does control is whether saving is possible at all, through the downloads setting above.
